Anti-Cracking UV-Resistant LSZH Sheathing Compound CAB5505HPW

Anti-Cracking, UV-Resistant Low Smoke, Non-Halogen,Flame Retardant, Thermoplastic Sheathing Compound.

Description

CAB-5505HPW is an anti-cracking UV-Resistant low smoke, non-halogen, highly flame retardant, low corrosive, low toxic, and thermoplastic compound. It is designed to comply to LTS4 of BS7655 and ST8 of IEC60502 for general-purpose cable sheath applications. Used as sheath, it easily passes the IEC 60332-3, test for vertical flame spread of vertically mounted bunched wires and cables. Cable construction, of course, plays an important role in the flame performance. It can be used as a sheath on cable operating at up to 90°C, with excellent fire safety characteristics and a good balance of properties.

Features

CAB-5505HPW has the following features:

    1) Highly flame retardant

    2) Low smoke, low corrosive, and low toxicity

    3) Ease of extrusion and no special screw required

    4) Good balance of toughness and flexibility

    5) Environmentally friendly (lead-free, halogen-free, sulfur/antimony-free)

Processing Techniques

CAB-5505HPW can be processed on a wide range of commercially available cable fabrication equipment and screw types. A single flight PE metering screw with feed, transition and metering sections is recommended for most applications. Adequate output and torque limits are key determining factors for screw selection. A very low compression (1.2:1 type) screw can be used successfully if a breaker plate and 40/60 mesh screen pack are used to generate backpressure. Based on tests completed on 90mm, 25:1 standard extruder, the following typical conditions are recommended as a starting point. However, it may be necessary to optimize conditions for a given set of construction, extruder-screw configuration and tooling.

* Tooling

The guider-tip should be retracted into die slightly for tube-on tooling, semi-pressure tooling will improve finish.

* Draw-down Ratio

Draw-down ratio should be less than 25:1

*Pre-drying

 Pre-dry at approximately 65℃ for 4 hours is recommended in commercially available dehumidifying dryers if it is necessary. Do not heat over 80℃.

Packing & Storage

CAB-5505HPW is supplied in pellet form, 25kgs or 700kgs aluminum/plastic laminated film packing. We recommend that good housekeeping be practiced throughout your facility.
